(Toronto, Canada) With Canada’s housing crisis worsening, Cabinovo Housing Inc. is joining forces with Triweco to build new affordable modular homes faster, cleaner, and smarter. The partnership will speed up delivery of high-quality, energy-efficient homes at a time when Canada needs them most. According to the CMHC, the country will be short 3.5 million homes by 2030.
Cabinovo and Triweco will deliver a state-of-the-art production facility in the Waterloo Region customized for steel-frame modular construction. Triweco brings decades of experience in off-site automation - think floors, walls, and ceilings built with robotic precision - enabling smarter, faster, and greener homebuilding. It will provide both the machinery and advanced factory software - one of the key reasons they were chosen as a partner.
Cabinovo’s approach is simple but powerful: replace aging single-family homes in established neighbourhoods with modern four-unit buildings that blend in, boost density, and stay affordable. What makes this possible is their fully integrated model—handling everything from design and manufacturing to development and long-term ownership through real estate investment funds.

Unlike traditional builds with dozens of suppliers, this new factory will be a one-stop shop. Triweco will supply both the machinery and the software backbone making it easier for Cabinovo to deliver consistent results without juggling vendors. The homes themselves will be owned and operated by Cabinovo-managed funds, with some also sold to third-party developers and affordable housing providers - ensuring long-term value for both investors and the neighbourhoods they serve.
